IP laws set out the process & requirement through which IP rights can be acquired and utilized, they also set forth what constitutes infringement upon IP rights and what actions of third parties will be considered infringement of such IP rights. There is also a separate legal framework that protects against unfair competition by prohibiting unethical behaviour in addition to providing additional protection for specific classes of IP.
